About NMR A&C “Our mission is to help or
clients solve their research and quality control issues through the use of NMR
spectroscopy.” NMR A&C uses NMR technology to solve production and synthesis
problems for commercial and academic clients.
This may mean simply supplying NMR data. However, we often get much more involved
in the clients issues. We may
identify synthetic products and by-products by using 1H and 13C
NMR and sometimes more advanced NMR technologies, together with the reactant
information from the synthetic chemist.
We may determine the stereochemical configuration of a pharmaceutical
product. We routinely assay chemical
purities of pharmaceutical materials giving percent purities. We identify fermentation products, monomer
contents of many different types of polymers, impurities that may be present
in various materials, substitutions in starch products. There are many other problems that we have
used NMR to solve. “Our clients are
manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, polymers and food
products, as well as universities.” We started business in August 1996 with a Varian VXR 4000
purchased from Tate and Lyle, Inc. with the understanding of our providing
NMR services to them. We have added
many more clients in the pharmaceutical, polymer and specialty chemical
industries. We replaced the old Varian console and computer with a new state
of the art Tecmag Apollo System in August 2005. The Apollo system runs on a MS Windows XP
computer system, making it easy to send clients data directly over the
internet.
